For this You Might Like This Album, here is the very first album from MYTH & ROID. If you have watched Overlord or Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World, or even more obscure anime such as Bubuki/Buranki (BBK/BRNK) or Youjo Senki (Saga of Tanya the Evil), then you will have heard them.
Consisting of vocalist Mayu and producer Tom-H@ck (who has songwriting credits for many K-ON! and Sword Art Online songs), their style mixes industrial, electronic, and even sentimental. Their first album showcases what makes them noteworthy: their powerful and awesome sound. Mayu’s blend of vocoder with Tom-H@ck’s rock and electronic sound are incredibly catchy and memorable.
Notes on the songlist:
This album has in intro and outro, in fairly decent English. Gives the impression that you are a fantastical journey of a ride.
When tracks 3 & 4 hit they will be familiar. These are from Re;Zero, memories of when they play it during the more tragic parts of the show. Cool and a bit sad.
More awesome tracks follow, as they guide you from easy and to the more intense part of the album at track 7
Seven through eleven are more harder, more raw. Track 11 is Overlord’s ending theme, and as crazy as ever.
Track 12 is the oddball of the album, its very happy and cheery compared to the rest of songs’ tone. Not bad, just unexpected.
Ends with the last song “-to the future days”, which brings you back and gives hope.
Welcome to the Party!
To sum it up, You May Like This Album if:
- You love to rock out to insane hardcore electronic music
- You are a fan of the anime series mentioned above
- You what an album to tell a story while banging your head to it.
